TELECOMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR

The RRRDC is proud to announce Communications Operator Kristi Schultz has been selected as the 2006 ND APCO Telecommunicator of the Year.  The ND APCO Chapter officially recognized Kristi at the Dakota 911 Conference in Bismarck on March 21, 2007.

For those of you who don’t know Kristi, she works the midnight shift (2200-0800) and has been a 9-1-1 dispatcher for the past 8 ½ years.  She began her career at the Richland County Dispatch Center and was hired by the Fargo Dispatch Center in June 2001. Kristi transitioned into the RRRDC in 2002. 

  • - Kristi was instrumental in creating  the RRRDC’s 911 Education Program.  In 2006, she spoke to over 360 2nd graders in the region on the importance of dialing 9-1-1. 
  • - In 2006, Kristi received an accommodation for her exceptional call taking and dispatching skills in the April 25 incident involving a suicidal person.
  • - Kristi was the lead Communications Training Officer (CTO) in 2006 with 320 training hours.
  • - Kristi’s EMD performance averaged 95% indicating a high level of confidence and proficiency in using the EMD protocols and pre-arrival instructions.
  • - In 2005, she used less than four hours of Unscheduled PTO and in 2006, she used one hour.  
  • - Her work ethic is exemplary.  In 2006, Kristi worked a record number of 138 hours of OT. 
  • - Kristi is also a Certified NCIC Trainer for the RRRDC.

Kristi takes pride in her career as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher.  She is a compassionate individual who can be counted on to do her best.  Everyone enjoys working with Kristi.  She is cheerful, upbeat and always willing to give her co-workers a helping hand on the dispatch floor.
